Hi, I'm Dr. Lipe (rhymes with "pipe" — yes, we get questions). I'm the owner and eye doctor here at Elite Eyecare, and I started this clinic with a pretty simple goal: to do eye care the right way.
After years of watching patient care take a back seat to corporate efficiency, I decided to build something different. At Elite Eyecare, you'll get a thorough, unhurried eye exam, fair and transparent pricing, and — brace yourself — an actual human being who answers the phone. Revolutionary, I know.
I grew up on a farm in Fort Smith, Arkansas, where we had chicken houses, cattle, pigs, and at one point, a couple of pet deer (long story). I went to Cedarville Schools, earned my Bachelor's degree in Biology from the University of Arkansas Fort Smith, and then headed to Memphis to complete my Doctor of Optometry degree at the Southern College of Optometry. You could say I went from feeding chickens to prescribing progressive lenses — quite the career pivot.
When I'm not in the office, you'll find me fishing, hunting, out at the lake, or at the gym. Basically anything that isn't sitting still.

Jay Evans is a true Tampa Bay native who traded sunny Florida beaches for the honky-tonk vibes of Nashville back in September 2021. He’s never looked back, except maybe to cheer for his teams.
A die-hard sports fanatic, Jay proudly reps the Tampa Bay Rays, Tampa Bay Lightning, Milwaukee Bucks, Boston Celtics, and most passionately, the Florida Gators (go Gators!). Whether it's baseball, hockey, basketball, or college football, he's got the gear, the stats, and the loudest voice in the room.
His career path took a fun detour. After crossing paths with Dr. Lipe in 2022 while working in minor league sports, Jay made the leap into eyecare in October 2025. From dodging foul balls and mascot mishaps to helping patients see clearly, talk about a career glow-up!
He jokes that it's quite the changeup, but he's loving the slower pace, the chance to build real one-on-one relationships with patients, and especially the satisfaction of cutting through the insurance red tape like a hot knife through butter.
Jay's mission is simple: simplify the confusing healthcare maze, always put patients first, and make sure everyone leaves with better vision and maybe a good laugh.
